Matt McTygue represents private equity and venture capital firms, investors, commercial lenders and private companies in a broad range of business and financing transactions, including leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, private equity financings, senior, subordinated and venture debt financings, restructurings and recapitalizations, employment and equity incentive arrangements, dispositions and general corporate matters.

Notable Experience
Represented equity sponsors and operating companies in connection with mergers, acquisitions, financings and recapitalizations, including:

  • the leveraged buyout of a service provider to the industrial asset management industry
  • the acquisition and financing of a company in the life settlements industry
  • the acquisition and debt financing (senior and mezzanine) of an industrial process instrumentation company
  • the leveraged buyout and recapitalization of a leading supplier of liquid and gaseous oxygen and nitrogen generators and water treatment systems for the military, medical, and oil & gas markets
  • the acquisition of a microbiology company by a life sciences tools company and simultaneous debt financing transaction
  • the leveraged buyout of a leading publisher of business-to-business magazines, tabloids, newsletters and online resources in

Community Involvement
Matt has served on the boards of directors and fundraising committees of several local non-profit organizations, including Transition House, a nonprofit organization committed to ending domestic violence through education and intervention and the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, the Junior Fellows Steering Committee of the Boston Bar Foundation and GLAD. Matt is also the co-chair of EAPD's Boston Office diversity committee and a member of the firm-wide technology committee and diversity committee.
