The Basel Institute of Governance (www.baselgovernance.org) has published a book entitled "Recovering Stolen Assets" which features two chapters written by London partners, Tim Daniel and James Maton.

The first is about using civil proceedings to recover corruptly acquired assets of public officials.  The second, "Recoving the proceeds of corruption:   General Sani Abacha - a nation's thief," is about world-wide attempts to recover public money stolen by General Abacha, the former dictator of Nigeria.

The book has been published ahead of an inter-governmental conference in Bali on the United Nations Conference Against Corruption. Asset recovery is an important agenda item.
