Tim is Co-chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Group. He and his colleagues at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP are absolutely committed to protecting an employer’s right to run its business freely, within the law. With both the rise in the number of employment claims and the amounts of jury verdicts, Tim prefers to keep his clients out of trouble by having them follow a comprehensive program of rigorous training, full faith compliance, strict recordkeeping and vigorous enforcement to improve morale and boost workplace productivity.
Tim’s clients include Fortune 100 companies with a national presence, as well as start-up enterprises in only one or two locations. When his clients have been sued, Tim has been there for them. Named a Massachusetts "Super Lawyer" in the area of Labor & Employment for three years and recognized in the Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition in the area of Employment & Labor, Tim routinely tries cases in both state and federal courts throughout the country and has successfully defended his clients against virtually every conceivable type of employment claim that exists. Tim has also successfully resolved a number of wage and hour collective/class actions on behalf of his clients. Tim regularly counsels telecommunications companies, financial institutions, insurers, retailers, manufacturers, and construction companies, among others. Besides defending his clients against employment related claims, Tim also advises employers on the entire spectrum of employment issues, including sexual harassment investigations, employment counseling and terminations, retaliation claims, FLSA, FMLA and ADA issues, and reductions in force.

The judgment was affirmed by the First Circuit, marking the first time the First Circuit had addressed the issue of NLRB preemption.
- He obtained a complete defense award, including damages in favor of the employer, plus all attorneys’ fees, in a two week arbitration, in which former employee sought $5 million for breach of contract and fraud under a separation agreement.
