Ashwani is a corporate and regulatory lawyer. He became a partner in May 1997 and has been advising the insurance sector since 1994.
His main practice areas are mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance (including capital raising, flotations and takeovers), general corporate law and financial services advice.
Notable Experience
- He advised on the acquisitions by Validus of Talbot and by Sagicor of the Gerling at Lloyd’s group.
- Representing Textron Inc on its acquisition of the European operations of Utilux.
- Representing the PRI Group on its AIM flotation which remains the largest capital raising on AIM, and HCC on its acquisition of the broker Manchester Dickson.
- He acted on the sale of The Underwriter, the structuring and private equity investment into the Interglobal Group, the establishment of RITC Syndicate Management and the admission of LLP’s as corporate members at Lloyd’s.
- He advised Trenwick/La Salle on the restructuring of its Lloyd's operations.
- He advised the SOC Group on its restructuring and the establishment of the Argenta Group.
