Scott Magee is an associate in the Litigation Department at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP. Scott represents clients in State and Federal Court in a wide variety of litigation, both in trial courts and on appeal. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, securities litigation and SEC and government investigations. He is also active in pro bono projects at the firm.
Scott is a member of EAPD’s Securities Litigation, Government Enforcement and Corporate Governance practice group. Outside of the firm, Scott serves as coach to Boston College Law School’s Jessup Moot Court Team.
Notable Experience
- Retained as appellate counsel for a publicly-traded company after an adverse ruling in a bench trial in a case alleging that the company engaged in unfair and deceptive business practices. Obtained complete reversal of the lower court’s judgment.
- Obtained dismissal of claims against a major telecommunications company in Massachusetts Federal Court alleging breach of state tariffs and unfair and deceptive business practices.
- Conducted internal investigation into revenue recognition practices of a publicly-traded company.
- Conducted internal investigation into potential insider-trading allegations of a publicly-traded company.
- Represented a pharmaceutical company against allegations that it engaged in misappropriation of trade secrets.
- Represents a manufacturer of building supplies in product liability actions and construction-related disputes.

Scott graduated from Boston College Law School. While at BC Law, Scott was an oralist on the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team and he served as a judge for the Grimes Moot Court Competition.
Prior to law school, Scott received his Master’s Degree in organic chemistry from Boston University and his Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
