We are consistently ranked among the leading US firms for number of patents prosecuted to issuance each year and are widely recognized for achieving excellent results in patent litigation and interferences.

Litigation
Our Litigation Department represents a broad range of clients across many industries, including financial institutions, manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, colleges and universities, insurance companies, technology companies, healthcare providers, and governments. EAPD litigators frequently handle national class-action cases involving antitrust, asset tracing, intellectual property, securities, employment, environment, construction, white-collar defense, products liability and various commercial litigation.

Private Client

Public Finance
For over a century, our nationally recognized Public Finance practice has assisted state and local governments to access capital markets to finance major public projects and programs. Our Public Finance Department also specializes in other sophisticated financial transactions involving public debt for healthcare institutions, schools and colleges, affordable housing, water projects, sports facilities, and transportation projects.

Public Policy & Government Relations
Our Public Policy & Government Relations professionals have the demonstrated experience and capability to prepare successful government relations strategies in high pressure, complex, and time sensitive situations. Clients regularly look to our attorneys for advice on how best to approach policy-makers. Having developed strong relationships with legislators and other policy-makers at all levels of both federal and state government, including the U.S. House and Senate, and throughout the Executive Branch, EAPD can use its legal and political expertise to achieve optimal policy outcomes.

Real Estate
Our Real Estate Department handles matters ranging from complex real estate financings to development and permitting, and mixed–use development. Our real estate attorneys played a significant role in the largest land purchase in the contiguous US since the Louisiana Purchase, acting as lead counsel for the mortgage financing secured by 2.6 million acres of timberland and timber, with a purchase price of $3.16 billion.

Restructuring & Insolvency
Our Restructuring & Insolvency Department has broad experience in bankruptcy cases, out-of-court restructurings, cross-border proceedings and other distressed situations. Our lawyers regularly advise premier financial institutions, institutional investors, debt investors, finance companies, insurers and sureties to enforce creditors’ rights and to achieve strategic goals in the context of structured transactions, commercial litigation, loan workout, debt restructurings and bankruptcy.

Tax, Benefits & Compensation
Our Tax, Benefits & Compensation attorneys assist clients in structuring a wide variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, formation of, or investment in, pass-through entities, including joint ventures, private equity and venture capital funds, project finance, real estate syndications and tax credit financings. Our multidisciplinary approach integrates our benefit professionals into complementary practice areas such as private equity, insurance, and trusts and estates. Sound "tax and benefits planning" is a critical component of a wide variety of business and investment transactions and integral to practical business and economic concepts and solutions. Almost every business decision has an array of tax consequences which, if not properly examined and evaluated, could severely undermine the achievement of the non-tax objectives. Our goal is to provide the best possible tax results in the most efficient manner.
The hiring of a lawyer is an important decision that should not be based solely on advertisements. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
